This 3.2mm stainless steel wire rope is commonly used in constructing balustrade by professional and DYI guys alike. The applications for this versatile rope are endless and include vertical and horizontal balustrade, clothes lines, shade sails, load tie-downs, orchard wires, control cables, struts and luff wires and even trapeze wires! 

Designed with a co-efficient of stretch, our wire rope is flexible and easy to work with. It’s excellent for use with Thimble and Ferrule fittings and ideal for hydraulically swaged fittings. Our wire ropes are designed and manufactured to achieve optimum balance between fatigue and abrasion resistance, high tensile strength and structural integrity. The special surface treatment applied to this product will make it last and look new for years to come.

The “7x7” in the title description refers to the structure of the wire -- 49 individual strands of wire are twisted into one super strong premium wire rope. More specifically, the rope is constructed from 7 thin wires twisted together in a substrand; 7 of these substrands are then twisted together to form the wire rope.
Other common 3.2mm wire constructions include the 1 x 19 which translates to one strand composed of 19 thin wires. This particular rope is not as flexible as the 7 x 7 and is recommended only for hydraulically swaged fittings. The 7 x 19 wire rope product consists of 133 individual wires grouped together as 7 substrands of 19 wires which are then formed into one strand. This commercial strength wire can be used for balustrade but is chiefly used for heavy-duty tasks on cranes and winches where high flexibility and a co-efficient of stretch are essential. Obviously, the more wires which a wire rope is comprised of the more flexible it is.
